Frequently asked questions:

"We're looking for an investment. Will the value of these lodges go up with house prices?"

Yes. The lodges are built on site (they are not prefabricated) to full building regulations. Also, if you chose to let the lodge to tourists when you were not using it, then it would earn you even more money.

"Would you let the lodge to tourists on our behalf?"

Yes, we would be happy to do that, although you would not be required to let the lodge through us.

"Is the site open all year?"

Yes, you would be able to come and go as you chose all year 'round, although there is a stipulation in the planning that no one may live in the lodge on a permanent basis.

"Are the lodges freehold or leasehold?"

They are freehold - you would have complete and permanent ownership of the land on which the lodge is built.

"Is there a site maintenance charge?"

Yes, it will be around £350 per year, and covers all maintenance of the site outside the boundaries of the plots.

"Would there be any other charges involved?"

Not from us. You would of course have to pay council tax, for which there is a 10% discount for second homes - or a 80% discount on business rates for lodges that are used as a businesse - i.e. let to tourists. You would also of course have to pay for electricity, water, and the emptying of your septic tank (located outside your plot and shared with one other lodge).

"Do you provide a gardening service?"

We provide an optional basic gardening service of grass cutting and weed killing within your plot, for £100 per year.
